I have a Saint and he doesn't look an ounce Saint to me.   I really think he's 100% Boxer and a nice looking one at that.

He's sounds like he has a great temperament and I imagine once neutered he will only be better.   I say Neuter him and keep him Smiley

FYI--My husband see's tons of dogs everyday at work on his routes.  He says he has NEVER come across a mean boxer.  He says every one has been a goofy, bouncy, happy dog.

Laura, my first question was "what kind of horse are you guys looking for?"  Their answer was "anything."  That was the first thing that seemed fishy to me.  I asked if they had an age range they were looking for and they repeated "anything."  At that point I told them we had nothing for sale at this point in time.  Then they started questioning me about what kinds of horses were in the barn and how much they were worth.

All of our tack is locked up and our barn is under video surveillance.  Still.

I had a recent bad fall (not nearly as bad as yours!), and it has shaken my confidence.  Thanks for the inspiration!

Syn...You are more than welcome to come ride Hal or Lady in the indoor anytime Smiley  Maybe being in an inclosed area will help and also the cushy footing will be a softer landing Wink Tongue Grin

Hi,
My niece is 15 years old. She is a beginner english rider, she has taken lessons on/off since she was knee high. I'd rather she didn't canter until she rides on a more regular basis but she is a balanced walk/trot kid and posts well with soft hands. Some may consider her an intermediate rider but I don't want to rush her along, so I guess you can call her a "seasoned beginner."

Anyhow, if you have a super duper quiet beginner horse you would like to shareboard because you have a lack of time or funds (or both), she would love to have the opportunity to come out once maybe twice a week to groom and ride in an arena. My mom, her grandmother would drive her to the stable so she would have an adult to supervise her. My mom helped me with my horse when I was a kid so she has some horse knowledge too. They are both very responsible and caring people.

My niece is a great kid and would love to have her own horse someday but can't afford her own right now, so if you have a nice older, sane horse and would like to have someone to care for him or her and pay some board then contact me to let me know the details. My email is Horseandtack@hotmail.com

Thanks for your consideration.  Smiley

i would quiz them as to what they were looking for.... just to see if they knew what they were talking about.
If they did seem to know what they were talking about i would have said, "Well it seems we have nothing that would fit your criteria." Then i would have asked them if they had a biz card and that i would be happy to call them if i came across a horse that fits their needs. That usually takes care of people like this. Jotting down the plate number and other info right away and reporting it via your local non emergency police number is always a good idea. Heck even snapping a pic of them as they drove off never hurts.... god i love smart phones:)

I have no clue....haven't had time to really think about the digital thing. We may be going with Direct TV. Not sure.

Yeah, that is definitely suspicious.  Make sure all the tack is locked up and horses are looked at especially at night since there is always people at Oakwood during the day.  I remember when Castle Hill got all their tack stolen, its the worst feeling in the world to walk into a empty tack room.... from then on we had a guard dog and locked everything up.

Hopefully they don't come back cause I would cry if anything ever happened to Captain.  But yeah, it was definitely best to report it. Hopefully they aren't stupid enough to try and steal from a barn right next to the road with people that live on the property next to the barns and with boarders who are almost always there.

I just moved up here (Elk Grove) a few months ago and now it's time to bring my mare up here. I'm looking for a H/J barn with an indoor. My girl will finish up her 90 days under saddle the beginning of October so I mainly need a barn to keep her fat and happy so I can put many miles on her.

Horse Needs:
Indoor arena
Stall with full care option, 12 x 12 would be ideal as she's a big girl
Turn out, preferably pasture vs. dry lot

People Needs:
Positive atmosphere
Trustworthy barn
Prior to moving up here I was a pro rider the past 15 years so if a barn has a few extra horses that need exercising/training, that would be a plus

I'm hoping to stay in the $500ish price range but a good fitting barn is a #1 priority. Looking to stay 15 - 20 miles within the Elk Grove/Schaumburg area.

I have both the regular Fillis stirrups and the peacock stirrups with the elastic band on the side.  I'm assuming that the peacock safety stirrups are not allowed in competition, although I have been looking at rule books and guidelines and can't find it.  Any opinions?  Thanks.
